Technical Error

I just recently made a new account that could be accessed by my friends knowing that I am the owner of the blog. Excitedly, I posted about three posts just for today. And I was able to view it on another page. However, after signing out I had a change of mine and decided to do some revisions on its template.

I logged in. Get through the account and viola! The account is accesible but something went wrong. There is no blog on it. No post, no pictures..nothing. I spent the last two hours for nothing and I suspect technical problems here. On the contrary, I never encountered any problem like this on this blog provider. I have 2 (two) account to vouch for that. But what the hell went wrong?

Dream On

I have always been dreaming of becoming a journalist when I was still a young girl in high school. In fact, I fill up the position of Editor-in-Chief during high school. I thought, back then, that I am good in writing correspondence. I am elated at every piece inthe school paper with my name on it. But I saw myself as someone who will get into trouble once I pursue that profession. And my stepdad agreed, emphasizing the fact that there is no money in it. Discouraged, I began focusing on my love for arts. I draw, and paint. It was another hopeful profession to have once in College. But again, stepdad interfere telling me how bad and lousy it's gonna be. Just like everyone else who doesn't lose hope that easily, I tried the Mathematics field which fortunately, I excelled in my final year in high school. It was an effort and pain going to different quizbee without early notice but I strive, for the sake of my future. Graduation come, I was told non-chalantly by this person who holds the reins of my future that Civil Engineering is out of the question.
For the journalist inside me, i retorted back and asked for an explanation. This is what he told me:

Journalist runs to the mountain. You will become an activist.
Artist freak out. They don't earn money and you would end up with
drugs, prostitution and wrong guy.
Civil Engineering are for men, alone.

Looking back, I should have cut him off. I should have stopped him from taking the reins of my future. Or better yet, I should have folowed my hearts desire. I should have taken courses on painting in between summer class.
But, I did not do anything. I am scared of this person who stole my youth and my dreams. Gladly, fate turn his helping hand at me. I might not have excelled on the field that was insisted upon me by that old dictator but it was my passport to runaway from home. Finding my dad was a bonus, minus the disappoinment he brought me.
Now, with nappies and baby bottles at hand, I keep on dreaming. Maybe, my artistic persona is working on through this blog. And perhaps, in my work right now. Who says technical side doesn't mingle with arts. It does. Everything around us is art.

Restricted Websites

I found this isnteresting piece in the net. I've tried the google approach and it works! for those interested, please read on.

Blocking access to undesirable Web sites through the use of Internet protocol filters has been a common government tactic since commercial Internet access first became available here in 1995. China and Saudi Arabia are believed to extend greater censorship over the net than any other country in the world under the pretext of information control. Most of the blacklisted sites in Saudi Arabia are either sexually explicit or about religion, women, health, drugs and pop culture. They even block access to websites about bathing suits. So if you want to buy something to swim in, they seem to treat that as if it were pornographic in Saudi Arabia.

In China, webites containing sexually explicit content were among those blocked, but they also included sites on sensitive topics such as Tibet, Taiwan, and dissident activity. China also blocks access to Google News, Typepad and Blogger hosted blogs. But what if an innocent website is accidentally blocked by your ISP or your government. There are always legitimate reasons to visit these blocked websites.

We have listed a few methods to help you access blocked websites in school, college, office or at home.

Approach 1: There are websites Anonymizer who fetch the blocked site/ page from their servers and display it to you. As far as the service provider is concerned you are viewing a page from Anonymizer and not the blocked site.

Approach 2: To access the blocked Web site. type the IP number instead of the URL in the address bar. But if the ISP software maps the IP address to the web server (reverse DNS lookup), the website will remain blocked.

Approach 3: Use a URL redirection service like tinyurl.com or snipurl.com. These domain forward services sometimes work as the address in the the url box remain the redirect url and do not change to the banned site.

Approach 4: Use Google Mobile Search. Google display the normal HTML pages as if you are viewing them on a mobile phone. During the translation, Google removes the javascript content and CSS scripts and breaks a longer page into several smaller pages. [link] View this website in Google Mobile

Approach 5: Enter the URL in Google or Yahoo search and then visit the cached copy of the page. To retrieve the page more quickly from Google's cache, click "Cached Text Only" while the browser is loading the page from cache.

Approach 6: A recent Oreilly story on accessing blocked websites suggested an approach to access restricted web sites using Google language tools service as a proxy server. Basically, you have Google translate your page from English to English (or whatever language you like). Assuming that Google isn’t blacklisted in your country or school, you should be able to access any site with this method. Visit this site via Google Proxy

Approach 7: Anonymous Surfing Surf the internet via a proxy server. A proxy server (or proxies) is a normal computer that hides the identity of computers on its network from the Internet. Which means that only the address of the proxy server is visible to the world and not of those computers that are using it to browse the Internet. Just visit the proxy server website with your Web browser and enter a URL (website address) in the form provided. This page has a long list of proxies. You can either choose one yourself or let the service choose a random proxy for you. Also bookmark the DMOZ directory of free web-based proxy services and DMOZ directory of free proxy servers

Update: China appears to have moved beyond simply blocking access to a Web site with IP filters and may now be employing packet filters to scan individual packets for undesirable information, said Duncan Clark, managing director at telecommunication analyst BDA China Co. Ltd.Source: Internet Filtering Worldwide

Raging Wars

Lebanon and Israel are fighting a losing battle. It seems that all this war brought to mankind is destruction. Can't they get enough from the wars inside them that they need to bring it out through their killing machines.

Crazy people.

Loco.

My heart is crying out for those dead children. It was horrible, stripping them off their happy memories to come. The future lost...

Just when I thought my raging battle was the worst..

Cold Feet

I am having the dreaded disease. This is all about finding a new job. Fear is gripping me. Will I find a decent paying one? Will the environment not political? will I survive manufacturing this time. These questions are choking me with fear. Not that I am not flexible, but sometimes you just have the above-mentioned disease. Cold feet.
